Cyprus: The International Island of the European Union

Following the successful Cyprus business networking series in 2018-19, another exclusive and prestigious event, the Cyprus-India business networking, took place at the historic Royal Automobile Club on 21 May 2019. The event was organised by the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce & Industry represented by the Cyprus High Commission Trade Centre, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry supported by the Cyprus-Indian Business Association and Lintelligent Ltd.

Participants had the opportunity to meet with owners and directors of leading Cypriot companies representing the banking, legal, corporate services, advisory, real estate and other sectors, and explore a complete insight of investment and business opportunities.

The opening remarks of the networking event “Cyprus: The International Island of the European Union” were made by the President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Christodoulos Angastiniotis followed by the High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mr. Euripides L. Evriviades.

The focus of the forum was on how Cyprus can be the ideal EU business hub for the UK/Indian community. The speakers highlighted the island’s advantages including the strategic location for regional headquarters and access to Europe, Middle East and Africa markets, most favourable in the European Union tax system for corporates and individuals, complete financial regulation and advance/friendly business environment and procedures.
